Catriona communicates to inspire action. She is ruthless about clarity and has zero tolerance for the ordinary. Catriona has a wealth of experience in communication and narrative management, brand development, education and start-ups. With deep smarts in managing internal and change communication, she facilitates compelling conferences and webinars, and creates inspiring content.

Relentlessly curious, easily amused, occasionally mischievous, yet deeply committed to inclusion and respect, she is energised by connecting and collaborating with people to create WOW experiences.

With diverse industry experience across telecommunications, financial services, Olympic and Paralympic organisations, start-ups and global human services, Catriona innately understands the vibe of an organisation and what makes it “tick”.

She was the architect of the workforce communications function for the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games – from start-up to 2 500 employees, 30 000 contractors and 50 000 volunteers.

She devised and championed six branding and re-branding projects in seven years to create new markets and manage identity through merger and acquisition activity – engaging sceptical boards, inspiring team members and retaining employees and associates throughout an 18-year history.

She has facilitated over 200 workshops, focus groups, webinar and conferences with >300 diverse organisations, including nuclear science, road and traffic engineering, health insurance, postal and logistics, utilities, banking and finance, technology, local councils, environmental agencies, financial services, tobacco, telecommunications, and aviation.

In 2020-21, Catriona was part of the bid team led by Kathryn Greiner and Professor Laurie Buys for a CRC Longevity – an Australia-wide collaborative that brought together industry, government and researchers to deliver deep insights to drive innovation in new services, products and policies for older Australians. Whilst the bid did not receive the government funding it deserved, it was an extraordinary springboard to explore longevity.

Honed through years of entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship, Catriona is both creative and commercial. She has strong start-up nous as a co-founder of an HR consultancy Sageco (2004) contributing to and achieving above average year-on-year growth of 7% in its final 5 years before the 2017 acquisition by Randstad – the world’s largest Human Capital company.

Catriona has worked with Alison Hernandez since 1999 in different guises and is proud to call her #workwife.
